Extracurricular activities are good for children. It helps to build character, confidence and so much more. I am writing this from 17 years of experience. One thing I know for sure is that if I did not try different activities for my daughter she would not have found her true calling. My daughter was involved in Cheerleading, Music Lessons. and Girl Scouts etc.
My daughter started dance very early at the age of three, by the time she was 13 she told me that she wanted to focus solely on ballet. I thought to myself “she really knows what she wants to do”.
I thought I was just giving my daughter an outlet to stay active, but this turned out to be something that she truly enjoyed and ultimately her passion.
My daughter attended an Arts School since elementary into high school and now in the fall she will be attending the Hartt School for College, which is a private Conservatory for the Arts, and she will be majoring in Ballet.
