Hence, waterproof mattress protectors (or “bed wet” protection) can be a great way of protecting your mattress from getting stained or dirty. They repel liquids and keep them from getting into your mattress.

Maximum Mattress Protector
AllerEase’s mattress protector can be sized to fit mattresses up 17 inches in depth. It was waterproof (bed wet protection, especially for kids) in all our Lab tests. The brand also claims that it protects against dust mites, bed bugs and other allergens. The zipper has a velcro covering that prevents bed bugs from getting in through the zipper opening. We found the protective material to have a plastic-like feel and it can make some noises when they move around in bed.

Organic Cotton “Bed Wet” Protection
A well-fitted, absorbent diaper is the best protection against leaks. A mattress protector is a great option for cleaning up any spillages, such as spit-up, accidents, or other mishaps. My Green Mattress offers a variety of sizes including a crib-size protector. It’s also made from organic cotton that is GOTS certified. It did shrink slightly after washing, but it was not leaky in our lab testing. Consumer testers loved the protector for their beds. They said it made no noise and was invisible under their sheets.

Organic Waterproof Mattress Protector
Some other waterproof cotton mattress protectors are made from a woven cotton canvas material, which can feel rough to the touch. Its unique design, with a knit jersey lining both the protector’s sides and the waterproof material concealed between layers, made it the most comfortable protector we tested. The top layer of cotton absorbed liquids, but the inner layer kept moisture from seeping into the back.

Waterproof Mattress Protector
The elastic is protected by a silicone band to prevent it from shifting. Although the cotton upper has a “bed wet” protection barrier, it is quiet enough to make you feel comfortable while you are settling into bed. It showed less shrinkage after washing than other cotton options.
