United Way of Central Ohio’s Covid-19 Community Response Fund
As the Covid-19 pandemic continues to impact the most vulnerable members of society, United Way of Central Ohio is committed to supporting single mothers. Firstly, they address their most basic needs and creating opportunities for their children in school. Secondly, through the Covid-19 Community Response Fund, the United Way of Central Ohio has raised more than $2million in just two months. Finally, the primary sources of this fund include corporate sponsors, individual donors, and even community members.

Covid-19 Emergency Relief Fund
In partnership with the Licking County Board Commissioners, the Licking County Foundation (LCF) works to distribute the CARES Act’s funds to single mothers’ non-profits that were directly affected by the Covid-19 pandemic and its regulations. The funds’ priority is to help single mothers who have lost their jobs because of the Covid-19 pandemic.

The Columbus-Franklin County Covid-19 Small Business Response and Recovery Fund
Next up is the Covid-19 Small Business Response and Recovery Fund offers grants, technical assistance, and low-interest loans for single mom-owned small businesses affected by the pandemic. The program offers three types of relief to single moms in need of help:
- Financial Relief
This offers financial support to the existing single mothers’ small businesses in loans and grants.
- Personal Protective Equipment Procurement Assistance
This program aims to provide financial assistance to single mom-owned existing small businesses. However, they have to be operating around security equipment or be part of those making health improvements required for the reopening of companies in Columbus City.
- Training and Technical Assistance
The program focuses on providing technical support and training to single mom loan/grant applicants of existing small businesses and looking to maintain their operations within the City of Columbus.
