These creative writing scholarships and blog scholarships are available to college students. Your writing talents can win you up to $10,000 in college scholarships. Creative Writing Scholarships And Their Deadlines

The Humanist Essay Collection

Offers a $1000 Award. Deadline: March 31, each year. The Humanist Magazine offers creative writing scholarships for high school students in grades 9-12. You must write a 1,500-2,500-word essay on any topic you choose that can be up for publishing. The criteria for judging are originality, emotional engagement, clarity, quality, presentation, research evidence, and future potential.

Multiple prizes, up to $30,000 scholarships The Veterans of Foreign Wars sponsors an annual competition with a deadline of November 1. Each year, the scholarship is for high school students and features a different theme. They judge the scholarship on originality, quality, and delivery of a recorded speech.

Dear Abby College Columnist Scholarship Contest

Offers one $5,000 scholarship. The annual competition deadline is June. They invite Dear Abby, columnists, to submit columns to their college newspapers. It can be either a general or specialized column.

The Scholastic Art and Writing Awards 

Offers a $10,000 Award, but deadlines can vary. Most writing deadlines are in December, while novels require mid-February. The Alliance for Young Artists and Writers administers these writing scholarships. Students in grades 7-12 are eligible to receive more than one million dollars annually. The scholarship is awarded according to 10 writing categories and 16 art categories. Five writers will be awarded cash grants totaling $10,000 towards undergraduate tuition. Additional $1000 awards will go to 10 students in the Distinguished Achievement Awards.

YoungArts Competition Awards

Up to $10,000 Award (20 Awards in Writing). Deadline October every year for scholarships. This program is offered by the National Foundation for Advancement in the Arts to recognize outstanding high school seniors in writing and art. The final competitions will be held in Miami and the award winners will be invited.

Entrepreneurs Essay ScholarshipCreative Writing Scholarships

$1000 – $5000 scholarships. This scholarship for creative writing is no longer available to new students. These writing scholarships were available to high school seniors based on the book series The Entrepreneurs Game.

Blogging Scholarships – A New Kind of Creative Writing Scholarships

Dear Abby Advice Column Scholarships

$5,000 award Due date June. The scholarship is open to college students who write general, editorial, or specialized columns online or in print media.

Blogging Scholarships

Offers a $10,000 award and its due date is November. A college student who blogs is eligible for a blogging scholarship. An annual $10,000 award for a unique and engaging blog. You must be a US citizen, permanent resident, and enrolled full-time at college in the US to qualify. 

Political Blogging Scholarship

$2,000 Award Due date ~ February. A blog scholarship is awarded each year to a political blogger. You must be a student at college who blogs about politics.
