The International Kids Fund’s Mission

International Kids Fund Wonderfund - Jackson Health Foundation

International Kids Fund ( would love to extend their support to all children in need of medical treatment. Unfortunately, this is not possible. So, children who apply to this program need to meet the following eligibility requirements:

  • A child diagnosed with a medical condition that is not treatable in their country of origin,
  • Needy children whose families, particularly single parents, do not have health insurance or sufficient finances to settle their necessary health care treatments,
  • They are not U.S. citizens or residents,
  • Children with a medical condition that after the examination, doctors believe they have a good chance of getting cured, and
  • A child with a medical condition who require temporary or short-term medical care.

(So, children who are U.S. citizens or residents can apply for federal government aid)

Suppose you want to be able to assist needy children personally. In that case, you may want to consider becoming a donor to a charity of your choice like the International Children’s Fund. Or you can volunteer at a public health care centre in your community that supports critically ill children.

IKF has several success stories that range from different life-saving transplants, surgeries
  1. Ana Maria Isaza (Columbia)

Ana survived a life-threatening accident through the generous donations made to IKF. The 6-year-old was on her way back home from Disney World. This is when a drunken driver bumped into her family’s car which left Ana and her parents critically injured with 11 fractures to her pelvis. Moreover, the accident destroyed her urethra and bladder. However, her parents lacking the financial resources to settle Ana and their own medical bills. So, the IKF in Miami and Columbia became essential in changing little Ana’s life. IKF gifted her exceptional healthcare from world-class specialists worth more than $60 000.

  1. Christelle Auguste (Haiti)

Just three days after her birth, baby Christelle started having seizure-like episodes which eventually resulted in her needing corrective surgery which wasn’t available in her home country – Haiti. Following recommendations, she had her surgery done in the U.S. This is where she was then diagnosed with multiple life-threatening heart malfunctions and Tetralogy of Fallot (a hole in the heart). So, thanks to the IKF for Christelle’s life-saving surgery at the Holtz Children’s Hospital. As a result, Christell is now a healthy young girl and returning back home to Haiti.

  1. Guadalupe Torres (Peru)

At eight years old, Guadalupe was diagnosed with life-threatening thyroid cancer, requiring emergency surgery to remove her thyroid. This resulted in her losing her ability to speak and breathe normally due to the hole in her neck. Through the IKF, she could breathe properly again and is back home in Peru, growing up like a normal child.
