Prayers For Moms Who Are Overwhelmed

Last Updated on January 17, 2024 by Lori Pace

Sometimes, it’s easy to feel overwhelmed and unable to handle everything. As a mother, you have million things to worry in your life: your kids, your jobs, your family, EVERYTHING. Besides, the overwhelming feeling you have can be because of stress, anxiety, and exhaustion.

It may also be helpful to lean into the power of deeper intercession by utilizing a variety of relevant prayers. If you’re particularly looking for more specific requests or varying circumstances, consider praying for your mom using these additional prayers. It’s important to know prayers are not just words we say but a heartfelt conversation with our creator.

Here are five different prayers for overwhelmed moms, one for every need.

We hope that these prayers will help you feel calmer and supported.

Prayers For Moms Who Need Rest

Being a mom can be exhausting. Every minute you think things are at its end, another challenge comes along. The good news is that you can find peace in the Lord.

Heavenly Father, I am humbled and burdened today and I ask you to carry my burdens. I ask you to lift my weary spirit and fill me with your peace and love to renew and rejuvenate my body and mind. Lord, give me the strength to carry out my mothering duties.

Prayers For The Anxious Moms

After the birth of my first child, I had an overwhelming fear of the future. The more anxious you become, the more you need to pray in times of crisis.

Lord, I trust you and lean on your goodness. Your kindness and provision for me, my family, I am grateful. I am writing to you again to ask for your help in this difficult situation. Keep my heart and mind safe and help me to focus on your will. Please send your Holy Spirit to bring peace to my soul and help me along this journey.

A Prayer For Patience

Motherhood can be tedious and time-consuming. You’ve probably had to do it 10 times per day. Children don’t grow overnight, and we often don’t see God’s plans for them all at once. These are the words that I use to pray for patience:

Dear Lord, I believe you have a plan in mind for my child. I praise and thank you for giving me the opportunity to be his/her mother. Lord, there is disappointment in me because I long to see the results of my efforts. Give me the patience to keep my word and raise my child. For you to do your will in your time, teach me to trust and wait with hope.

A Prayer For Wisdom

As a mom to a newborn, I wanted as much information as possible. All of the conflicting parenting advice can become confusing and overwhelming. Only God can give us the wisdom that we need as mothers. This prayer can help you get clarity if you are unsure of what to do next.

Lord, give me the wisdom to follow your lead. Please send me your vision for this situation and let it be known that you will see it. Please show me how you can help my child make smart decisions so that they may choose the path that is most pleasing to them.

A Prayer For Grace

A Prayer For Grace

I don’t know if you feel the same way, but I often feel totally inadequate as a mother. Too much of my weaknesses and errors is my focus. I am overwhelmed by the huge tasks and immense responsibility that motherhood entails. This is why I pray for God’s grace during those times.

Please fill me with your grace, Lord so that I can be restored and renewed as a mother. Please remind me that I don’t have to do it alone. That you are there to support and guide me.
