Ohio Toledo Housing Court With Rent Assistance

The Toledo Housing Court handles evictions and rent escrow matters. Due to disagreement with the property owners, tenants must pay rent into an escrow account at the Housing Court. A housing specialist is immediately referred to any hearing that contains a claim for unfit or substandard housing standards.

A housing specialist can be chosen to inspect conditions that are in violation of the safe housing code during hearings regarding eviction. After the inspection, the landlord will be directed not to rent the unit out while the conditions are improved. The landlord will be assisted with determining the completion period. The Housing Specialist acts often as an arbitrator between landlord and tenant to find a solution.

Warren County Community Services

Warren County Community Services (WCCS), manages housing for seniors and families in the area. They are a nonprofit agency that provides affordable housing for income-eligible individuals. There are many units for families. They offer safe, spacious, clean, affordable rental housing. These three-bedroom apartments offer many additional amenities for the entire family. Volunteer staff work with families to create a tailored assistance plan that will help them achieve and sustain independence.

For those who might be homeless or disconnected, there are emergency services such as rent and utility coupons. These services offer financial assistance that is tailored to the needs of the individual or family. However, funding is not always available. Family Services staff administer these services. They will help the family identify and create plans to make sure they don’t need financial assistance again.
