This organization supports single mothers who are pursuing a college degree. It is a nonprofit organization and is community-based.

Eligibility Requirements

Applicants must be U.S. citizens living in Maricopa County/the Phoenix-Metro Valley in Arizona.

They must be legally single or divorced with at least one child under 11 years old. They cannot be living with a domestic partner. Applicants must also be in college, have a Grade Point Average of at least 2.8, and be taking at least nine credit hours each semester.

Scholarship Amount

The organization can provide $270 per month as a stipend that you can use in any way you choose. The awardee may also receive help with their automobile with AAA towing and repair costs. There’s also assistance with computers, software, and healthcare for the mother.

Finally, there’s financial assistance for haircuts, tutoring, and professional counseling, and legal consult if needed. Carpet cleaning, budget management, holiday gifts, and textbook money is also available.

Jeannette Rankin Scholarship Fund

This group helps women 35 years and older with a low income. They try to help these women seek higher education to find better employment opportunities. As a result, they are an excellent choice for single mothers’ scholarships.

Eligibility Requirements

Applicants must be American citizens residing in the US, a woman, 35 years or older, with a low income.  However, all contenders must be pursuing an exceptional education that will lead to a first associate’s or bachelor’s degree.

In 1985 they established this scholarship to honor the former President of Westminster College. It’s specifically for non-traditional female students, and they give single parents first consideration.

All applicants must be female students at Westminster College. They prefer a Grade Point Average of at least 3.0, and students must take at least six credit hours each semester.

The maximum amount awarded is $3,000. You must use the money to pay for tuition, living expenses, or repay loans.

This scholarship is only for single mothers in Berks County, Pennsylvania. It provides financial assistance to women who want to pursue a college education but don’t have the income to afford it.

All applicants must be female, a high school senior, reside and attend a college in Berks County, Pennsylvania, and have at least one child younger than 17.

Applicants must be enrolled or accepted to a skills training program or undergraduate degree program. They also must prove financial need.

Ford has set up a scholarship opportunity for Oregon and Siskiyou County, California. This scholarship program is different because it doesn’t give awardees a set amount but a tuition percentage.

As many as 55 students can receive a scholarship from the Ford Opportunity Program. Applicants must be single parents with dependent children.

They must also be considered the head of household and have a high school diploma or GED. All applicants must want to earn a bachelor’s degree and go to school full-time.

Scholarship Amount

Awardees receive a minimum of $1,000 and a maximum of $25,000 each academic year. The exact amount is 90% of the tuition cost covered by other grants or scholarships.

Carl W. Bull Nursing Scholarship

The Carl W. Bull Nursing Scholarship seeks to provide financial assistance to single mothers who wish to become nurses.
