Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program for Single Mothers
The Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP), was established to assist low-income families, single mothers, and individuals with limited income that is not enough to purchase nutritious food. The largest food safety net in America is the SNAP program which is formerly known as Food Stamps.
Use SNAP benefits to buy most food and beverages at most grocery stores and some health food shops. SNAP cannot be used for hot meals, ready-to-eat food, pet food, tobacco, alcohol or paper products, or any other non-food item.
You may be eligible for assistance if you are homeless and have very little income to pay your current expenses.
