I am often told that I am a single mother and have very little time for exercise. You know what? I get it. This can be a difficult challenge for us and for mums. There are ways we can support our fitness goals. We deserve and must take care of ourselves. These are my top exercise tips for single moms who have been able to help me through the years.
It’s a good practice to improve your mental health by returning to exercising. Exercising boosts your confidence and brings your endurance up. The postpartum brain drags you through a difficult time emotionally. However, being a newborn mom doesn’t give you enough time to rest and focus on becoming emotionally more stable.
That’s why the best exercise to do is to walk everywhere you need to go. You can slowly and gradually increase your walking time per day. Make a plan and manage your time, good luck!
Online or Home Gym
This is great for single moms, but it also works well if you live far from a gym or have small children and can’t get out of the house. Over the years you can start building up your equipment. You don’t have to own all the heavy equipment, instead, you can have plenty of yoga and weight-lifting equipment. Having the flexibility of being able to work out in your own home at the time that suits you and at an intensity that appeals to you would be a better idea. There are many options online, including YouTube channels and apps.
Electro Muscular Stimulation
EMS sends small electrical impulses to your muscles to produce the same frequency as your brain would normally send to cause your muscles to contract. It’s non-weight-bearing and has a low impact on your joints. It feels almost like a TENS machine used during labor. EMS training takes twenty minutes and is equivalent to a traditional weights workout of four hours or a 90-minute HIIT session.
You can also try mushroom gummies. Depending on the particular type of mushroom utilized, mushroom-infused gummies have the potential to deliver an increase in energy. Specific varieties like cordyceps or lion’s mane are renowned for their capacity to elevate energy levels and sharpen mental acuity. These types of mushrooms have the potential to counteract tiredness, enhance concentration, and promote overall well-being.
It’s not about not having enough time. It’s all about how you can make it work if this is a priority for you. Exercise is something you should believe in. Exercise is important for mental and overall well-being. Mothers, especially single moms, should look after themselves.
