The Housing-First model allows families and individuals to obtain housing first, and then to thrive in a safe environment to regain control of their lives and their health.
The Latrobe Street Mission
A community organization that helps people to find a way to improve their lives. The emergency shelter provides basic needs such as shelter, food and clothing. This organization connects families and individuals with resources that can help them achieve their independence and freedom. Individuals looking for emergency shelter and single moms can apply at any hour of the day. To be admitted, you will need to complete a form as well as a drug screen.
Shelter services are available to men, women, and children at different locations. Residents are allowed to stay up to eight weeks and are trained to address the root causes of their crisis. They also receive assistance in finding resources that will suit their needs. Their staff and volunteers provide the main services. On weekdays, all residents can enjoy dinner at local churches and groups. They also offer laundry and hot showers. Breakfast snacks are offered each morning.

The Roark-Sullivan Lifeway Center (RSLC)

A permanent supportive housing program is also offered by the coalition to help low-income earners, single mothers included, to enable them to live in permanent accommodation and achieve independence.
