Have you ever heard anyone talking about crunchy mothers? Are you curious about what is a crunchy mom and whether you are one of them?
Who is a Crunchy Mom?
A “crunchy mom” is a term that resonates with many of us who prioritize the well-being of our families. We’re the moms who are always eager to gather information, whether it’s about social issues, environmental sustainability, or our family’s health. We don’t settle for the status quo; we question it. We explore diverse approaches to solving everyday challenges because we’re driven to understand the root causes behind them.
A “crunchy mom”, in the ideal scenario, sees herself as a traveler on a quest to learn how to best care for her family using both traditional and modern research. She looks forward to learning from successful women in her chosen areas. She then reaches out to women who are just beginning to discover their roots and gently encourages them to think differently.
A Crunchy Mom Questions the Conventional Norm of Safety and Health
We don’t blindly accept the status quo when it comes to safety and health. We’re curious, always seeking out natural and well-researched alternatives. Our openness to different cultures and unconventional approaches helps us make informed decisions. We’re not afraid to explore new paths and ask questions because we’re committed to the well-being of our families.
Someone who doesn’t just accept the “status quo”.
Natural Living, in all its forms, is often the end and the common thread that connects crunchy moms to those who are more open to it. Each family is unique, so the desire to provide the best for everyone and to work tirelessly towards that goal is what makes a crunchy mom.
What Does Being a Crunchy Mom Mean?
You’re Living All Natural – Organic
Embracing an all-natural, organic lifestyle is at the core of being a crunchy mom. For us, it’s not just about using organic products; it’s about knowing where our food comes from. Our chickens roam freely, laying the eggs we serve on our plates. We’re passionate about every step of the journey, from farm to table, and that includes ensuring our feathered friends live a happy life.
Cloth diapers are your only option
You don’t like disposable diapers. They contain chemicals that can cause your baby’s skin to fall off. You can trust your child to do the right thing with their poop.
A Crunchy Mom thinks Coconut oil is the cure for all things
- What happens if your child falls and falls on his knees? Coconut oil.
- Diaper rash? Coconut oil.
Is he suffering from a chronic cough? Coconut oil will cure him. Coconut oil is the only treatment.
Snacks
Your child will need to eat black bean tortilla chips and veggie straws that taste like packing mousse.
Family Bed
You thought that sleeping was something you did with your husband or alone. No no. You share your “family” bed in a granola family because, even though you are at home most of the time (another must-have granola), you still feel the need to be there when they sleep. You would be a poor mother if you didn’t get enough sleep at night.
Breastfeeding is the only option for a crunchy mom
When it comes to feeding our little ones, breastfeeding is our preferred choice as crunchy moms. We believe in the natural benefits it offers. While we have our reservations about the formula, we recognize that it’s a valid option for some families. It’s important to make informed choices based on your child’s needs and consult with healthcare professionals.
Plastic is the enemy of a Crunchy Mom
You hate plastic. Plastic is not a good choice for food storage. Instead, use glass containers. You only allow wooden toys allowed for your children. Take any plastic to the backyard and burn it immediately (but this is bad for the environment). If it isn’t BPA-free, you won’t consider it. But you prefer glass or wood.
Spanking
It is not right. You shouldn’t be able to punish your children with poetry about kindness or the inner workings of people. Depending on how hard they are, some moms will accept “time-out.” But the chair must look inviting and decorated. It would be wrong for your children to believe they are being punished.
Natural birth
Your child must be born without medication. You loved pushing an eight-pound baby out of your ladies’ parts. It’s also important to document your birth. You must take many photos of yourself in a tub. A professionally-made video with music must also be made. All of these must be posted on Facebook. This will be more popular if it is shared with as many people as possible. These photos are wanted by everyone, you know. Consider writing a musical that is based on your natural birth.
Television
Our perspective on television may seem unconventional, but it’s rooted in our commitment to providing a wholesome environment for our children. We believe that avoiding certain TV shows, like Mickey Mouse Clubhouse, helps us focus on more engaging and natural ways to teach our kids. Flashcards and exploring the outdoors with rocks, leaves, and animals are some of the tools we use to nurture their development. We do this because we want to be intentional about our parenting choices and prioritize our children’s well-being.
Final Remarks about A Crunchy Mom
Flexibility is a crucial aspect of our crunchy mom journey. It allows us to adapt and grow as parents. We understand that life is dynamic, and each day presents opportunities to refine our parenting choices. Many of us have discovered that being open to change and constantly learning helps us make better decisions for our family’s well-being. It’s a path of self-improvement that we’re grateful to walk.
