How matching works
The same steps every time, whether you are looking for work or hiring, so everyone knows what happens next.
If you are looking for work
- You send the form with your hours, ZIP code, work history and any license or certificate.
- We call you to go through your skills, the pay you need and the hours that work around your family.
- We look for roles that fit your week, and we confirm the hours with the employer first.
- We describe each role to you, and we share your details with the employer only if you agree.
- We arrange interviews around your schedule and pass on the employer’s feedback either way.
- If you are offered the job, you agree pay and a start date with the employer, who employs you directly.
If you are hiring
- You send the role: the work, the hours, the pay range and the ZIP code of the workplace.
- We talk through the schedule, including whether the role could run on school hours, part-time or remote.
- We agree the terms of the search with you in writing before we start.
- We look for candidates, check their work history and available hours, and confirm any license the role needs.
- We introduce the candidates who fit, with notes on their hours and skills.
- You interview, choose and employ the person directly.
What we check before an introduction
Hours
We confirm the hours the role needs and the hours the candidate can keep, so a clash does not surface after the offer.
Work history
We go through recent jobs and dates with each candidate. Time out of work to care for children is common, and we treat it as ordinary.
Licenses and certificates
Where a role needs one, such as a pharmacy technician registration or an insurance license, we check it against the issuing body’s public lookup when one exists.
Permission
Nobody’s details go to an employer without their agreement, and we ask before we contact any reference.
What we never do
- We never charge job seekers a fee.
- We never ask for money for training, equipment, background checks or starter kits.
- We never ask for bank details before a job offer.
- We never ask an employer to prefer or exclude anyone because of sex, marital status or family status.
Questions about matching
How long does matching take?
It depends on your hours, where you live and the roles open at the time. If nothing fits yet, we tell you so, and we can keep your details for future roles if you would like us to.
Will you share my details without asking?
No. We describe the role to you first, and we send your details to the employer only after you say yes.
Do you check references?
For some roles, yes. We always ask your permission before we contact anyone.
Start with the hours you can keep
Send us your details, or send us a role if you are hiring. A person on our team reads every message.
