Lifeline Telephone Discount
LifeLine provides eligible individuals and single mothers with discounted wireline or wireless service, discounted Verizon monthly bill, discounted phone service installation, and free toll blocking. Find the list of participating phone companies here.
Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) for Single Mothers
The SNAP provides different kinds of eligible people like the working, unemployed, pension beneficiaries, or homeless. People who receive benefits from SNAP should also look for other food assistance program to further ease their food budget. Call 401-222-7276 or 401-462-5300 to know more.
Prescription Discount
Rhode Island hosts a Prescription Assistance Program that is available to all residents. The prescription discount card can be a substitute for most health insurance plans. It does not have restrictions, enrollment forms, age or income requirements, waiting periods, eligibility requirements, exclusions, claim forms, annual or lifetime limits, and personal information required to receive a card. Medications that are branded and generic are available.
Low Income Home Energy Assistance Program (LIHEAP)

Women’s Resource Center (WRC) of Rhode Island
WRC provides domestic violence victims with confidential shelter for men and women; both being at different locations. They also assist victims in being independent and finding affordable housing. Call their hotline which is available 24/7 at 800-494-8100 to know more of their services.
Free Medical Care
The Hope Clinic offers free, high-quality healthcare to uninsured adult residents of Rhode Island. They speak Spanish, French, Arabic, Creole, and some Italian. Healthcare is provided by volunteers continuously to roughly 1,500 enrolled patients and thousands of walk-in patients. They also assist in referrals for people who need specialty care.

Weatherization Assistance Program (WAP)
WAP offers households free weatherization programs which include sealing air leaks, caulking or repairing/replacing windows, repairing/replacing heat source and adding insulation in the attic and walls to reduce heating and cooling bills.
